| About The Mall, Wood Green: | Formerly known as Wood Green Shopping City, this mall still has gargantuan proportions compared to many other indoor malls within the north circular. Since its construction in the 1970s it has survived various recessions and undergone many changes, however it still remains the main hub of activity for Wood Green locals, attracting around 220,000 people a week. The sprawling complex has six storeys and a main road running through it, hence it’s comparison to a mini-city. Since being taken over by The Mall it has even expanded further, with a large market hall selling groceries and new shops. Pretty much any high street store you can think of is located here, including fashion, electronics, phone shops, book shops, sports retailers, supermarkets and department stores; these are intermingled with cheap bric-a-brac stores, Poundland and various charity shops. No shopping centre is complete without a cinema, in this case the 12-screen Cineworld, and an array of coffee shops, donut outlets and fast food restaurants. Parking is available till 1.30 am for a fee. |
