Take a writing class in a pub

They say nothing helps the creative juices flow quite like alcohol... bingo!
This must try is connected to: Balham Bowls Club

They say nothing helps the creative juices flow quite like alcohol, and this could literally be the case in terms of the Chalk The Sun writing course which takes place at the renovated Bowls Club in Balham.

The two-and-a-half hour class takes place over four Monday nights in one of the pub's rustic rooms – with coffees served during an interval and access to the bar in the next room open (although you might want to keep your head clear for the work).
The course itself encourages creative writing techniques such as description and scene-setting for budding fictional writers. Each lesson is taken by Chalk The Sun programme directors, Ardella Jones and Jo Hepplewhite who are experts in script-writing, children's fiction and even TV formats.

The four-session course will set you back £100, but if you fancy a taster to get you started, try out the Find Your Story workshop first.
