The capital’s assault on the skyline continues with 20 Fenchurch Street, more imaginatively named the Walkie Talkie because of its resemblance to the retro gadget. The 38 storey building is largely composed of office spaces, but what’s of interest to the visitor is the Sky Garden. In all honesty, Kew Gardens it ain’t, but there are some very decent views across London, and unlike the nearby Shard it’s free to access. A ticket is still required however, and there’s been a mad rush resulting in it being fully booked up until the beginning of March. If you simply can’t wait till then and you’re happy to go after dark, book a table at the bar, cocktail terrace or restaurant on the same floor.
