Where: The Antwerp Arms, Tottenham
Now that traditional pubs and live music venues are facing bigger threats than ever before from property developers, it’s nice to know that venues like The Antwerp Arms exist. When owner Enterprise Inns decided to sell the Tottenham drinking hole, members of the local community bandied together to raise the money to buy it rather than witness another characterless business go up in its place. And it’s not the only one – The Ivy in Nunhead was the first to set an example in 2013. Power to the people!
