At queer-themed Naked Boys Reading events men take to the stage to read completely in the buff! It’s not about titillation mind, the idea being that the nudity challenges the listeners to find alternative meanings in the literary works. Readings are curated by theme, so there’s been ‘Artificial Paradises’ which focused on everything from drug-taking in 19th century Paris to contemporary chemsex among gay men, and an evening dedicated to the work of filmmaker Derek Jarman.
Previous events have taken place at Dalston Superstore and The Ace Hotel in Shoreditch. Note: you don’t need to get naked to attend.
