Have afternoon tea in a 1930s tearoom

Head back in time for a cuppa

Where: Hillman’s Tearoom, 100 Wood Street, E17 3HX

We’re still fascinated by all things vintage, and this tearoom in the pretty Walthamstow village offers tea and cakes served in authentic, miss-matched china from the 1930s and 40s. The venue is decked out with chandeliers, quaint furniture and shelves filled with scrumptious cakes. All the food is homemade, and the menu includes fruit scones, sandwiches, hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, and loose leaf teas.

Check their listings for special events like film screenings on their old school Bakelite television.
