What would Joe Orton’s life be like if he had written it?

Who fired his imagination to create his most outrageous characters?

What if Orton’s alter ego, Edna Welthorpe, actually existed?

What if real events inspired the story lines of his plays?

2013 sees the 80th anniversary of the birth of one of theatres most enduring and enigmatic sons. Set in the early 1960s, Entertaining Mr Orton imagines Joe's life in the style one of his plays. Sex, murder, lies and a halibut all combine in this black comedy.

The truth was stranger than fiction as the twists and turns of Orton's outrageous life and brutal death reveal.
