The Crick Crack Club returns to the Soho Theatre for its 14th season of Performance Storytelling; launching with a night of gypsy fairytales for grown-ups...

A young woman is driven by a dream to search for leaves that have never grown; Jack watches three swan-women shake off their feathers; a nightmare chase through a forest; a ladder of skin and bone, a house that weeps...

The Woods were a Roma family who lived in North Wales during the 1920s, descendents of the flamboyant infamous gypsy storyteller Abram Woods. Their storytelling was so legendary that even today in some districts a fairytale will be called 'an Abram Wood'. Like the tales collected by the Brothers Grimm, these wondertales journey in turn, through dreams, romance and horror.

‘Gruesome, fantastical and hypnotic. Morden's stories show why the fairy world will never lose its power over our imaginations.' The Times
