Judy’s Vintage Trader Awards

Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair and Old Spitalfields Market are joining forces this autumn to honour the innovative British vintage traders and artisans who make the British vintage scene - favoured by the likes of Florence Welch (of Florence and the Machine), Chloe Sevigny and Pearl and Daisy Lowe - one of the best in the world at Judy’s Vintage Trader Awards on Saturday, September 7 from 11am until 5pm.

The market - ‘Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair’ - is Europe’s largest vintage marketplace and graces London’s premier market destination, Old Spitalfields Market, every first Saturday of the month. With tough economic times comes great creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, epitomised by the vintage and independent traders setting up shop at markets and pop-ups every month.

Gathering the vintage traders, designers and savants from across the land that make the market so exceptional, Judy’s Vintage Trader Awards held at Old Spitalfields Market will celebrate the best that British independent retro retail has to offer, showing recognition for the traders, who painstakingly source, collect, design and make vintage fashion, homewares, furniture and collectables.

The awards are set to celebrate inspiring nominees in all areas of trading and managing a small business; from the ‘Audrey’ award for most best fashionable stall to the ‘Eames’ award for the most spectacular furniture stall.

Handmade crafts, homewares and the best brand will also be awarded, with the public also encouraged to come forward and select one stall as their champion in ‘The People’s Choice Award’ category. With street stylists and bloggers integral to the success and reputation of independent traders and brands, top bloggers from Retro Chick and Frock N Roll Vintage will also be on hand to provide their mark of approval in the ‘Digital Thumbs Up’ category, celebrating London bloggers’ top stall choices.

With all categories scrutinising stock, affordability, creativity, merchandising and customer service, prizes for the overall winner and runners up – as voted for by the public - have been kept practical, from free pitches at markets and fairs across the UK to free advertising in the likes of Vintage Life Magazine, all chosen to support the longevity of British independent traders and keep them in our marketplaces, cities and towns.

Showcasing the best and brightest talent from vintage sellers to artisans, furniture to fashion, each trader has a unique story that Judy’s Vintage Trader Awards is passionate about capturing this Autumn.
