More At The Hall: Classical Coffee Mornings
We have collaborated with our neighbours at the Royal College of Music for this exciting series of concerts. Classical Coffee Mornings give you the chance to listen to outstanding talent from the College at Sunday morning classical recitals in the Hall's Elgar Room.
To commemorate the 150th Anniversary of Richard Strauss, the programme includes his brilliantly impassioned Cello Sonata and works by those Strauss-related composers such as Wagner and Mahler, arranged by the renowned cellist and Yuki Ito's teacher David Geringas. Yuki will also perform songs by Brahms, which are rarely played in a cello recital, the famous Fansatiestücke and his own arrangement of Rachmaninov’s Spring Waters.
Yuki Ito has always enjoyed the late Romantic works, and his debut CD Complete Rachmaninov Cello Works was chosen as 'The Month’s Recommended Disc' by the Strad Magazine in January 2013.
