Info: SOLO is a site-specific performance exploring love and loss. Based on the poetry of Greek romantic poet Maria Polydouri and its connection to the work of American poet Emily Dickinson, it combines spoken poetry, live music and contemporary dance. Passionate, revolutionary and tragically caught in their respective worlds, both artists offered confessions of joy and agony. The story follows a woman’s life as a metaphoric route through a labyrinth. She goes through a transformative process: from the innocent love of adolescence to the carnal love of maturity, and from birth to loss and its acceptance.

SOLO premiered in July 2013 in an abandoned oil refinery in Athens. Waterloo arches serve as an ideal backdrop, forming a land between life and death, between reality and imagination. International artists bring SOLO to London, to contribute to the artistic exchange between the two cities at this time of reflection for European art and society.
