Charity 5K River Run - Paternoster Square, London

Join Orchid’s 5k River Run in central London in support of Male Cancer Awareness Week (7th – 13th April 2014).

The UK’s leading male cancer charity Orchid will be holding a 5k River Run to raise awareness for the 43,000 men diagnosed each year with a male specific cancer. So whether it’s a cause close to your heart or you’re simply looking for a new challenge, why not sign up and join the fun!

The event takes place on Wednesday 9th April 2014 at 6:30pm and will start and finish at Paternoster Square, London. The route will take runners along the River Thames and past some of London’s most iconic landmarks.

Last year over 250 runners signed up for the Blue River Run and raised an impressive £6,000. This year Orchid are hoping to beat that result to raise £10,000 to fund a dedicated Male Cancer Information nurse. Lucy Dawes, Orchid’s Events Manager, says “Over the last 12 months more men than ever before have turned to us for information and advice. Supporting this year’s event will ensure a specialist Nurse can provide even more services to men and their families who are affected by prostate, testicular or penile cancer”.

All runners who sign up will receive a free dry fit running t-shirt to wear during the run and an event goody bag.
