Fay Hield and The Hurricane Party Plays Kings Place

Fay Hield is a singer who seems to have been born knowing how to carry a tune but with the rarer gift of knowing how to go straight to the heart of a song. Her debut solo album ‘Looking Glass’, was released in September 2010 and earned Fay many accolades and a nomination for the Horizon Award at the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. Fay’s second album, Orfeo, was released in May 2012, and gained rave reviews in the press and plenty of airplay across the UK and beyond. More recently she was involved in ‘The Full English’, a groundbreaking project sponsored by the English Folk Dance and Song Society, the result of which is the most comprehensive searchable database of British folk songs, tunes, dances and customs in the world. The following Full English tour was a massive success and Fay and The Full English won best group and best album at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2014
