Two soldiers serve in wars 100 years and over 3,000 miles apart: the Belgian battlefields of the Great War and the streets of present day Kabul.
As we approach the centenary of World War I and the withdrawal of UK troops from Afghanistan, Lindsey Butcher’s Gravity and Levity collaborates with director / choreographer Darshan Singh Bhuller and BBC Afghanistan Correspondent David Loyn to portray intimate images of endurance, humour and hope.
Performed on a 6 metre high climbing wall, a cast of six aerialists and dancers combine their rich visual language with music, film projections and news commentary.
Award winning Lindsay Butcher is a dancer, aerialist and teacher whose credits include the Commonwealth Games and the London 2012 Paralympic Opening and Closing ceremonies.
