Afroretro Upcycle Ya Life: Circular Scarf

Join AFRORETRO; British Ugandan sisters Anna & Lilly for an evening of UpCycling and crafting - African style! Turn an old t-shirt into a unique and desirable circular scarf. Embellish it with your one-of-a-kind design using African Wax printed fabrics, beads, sequins and macramé knotting.

You will be treated to tea or coffee and scrummy homemade cake. You’ll have the chance to learn exactly what UpCycling is; from how we do it here to the UpCycle Kings and Queens of Africa. Learn appliqueing techniques - such as the blanket stitch, some good old fashion hand sewing skills and the basics of macramé knotting.

You will leave with a beautiful and uniquely personal scarf, some renegade sewing techniques, a handy guide to remind you of your new skills, and a little bit of Africa in your soul.

We will provide everything you need, but in the spirit of UpCycling please feel free to bring an old t-shirt you would like to give a second life - the bigger the better!

Places are limited to 12 per session in order to give each crafter personal attention so book early to avoid disappointment.
