Dave Lewis and Michael Rosen “Voodoo Logic”

Led by two of the finest saxophonists in Europe, Michael Rosen and Dave Lewis (who met as students at the world famous Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA), Voodoo Logic presents a fresh take on classic Charlie Parker tunes. Showcasing Rosen’s brand new arrangements, the band reinvigorate familiar works of Parker with a different, contemporary-bop feel. An ex-pat New Yorker now resident in Italy, Michael is known for his lyrical, versatile saxophone style, which has been heard with an impressive array of musicians. He has performed and/or recorded with, among others, Bobby McFerrin, Jim Hall, Carl Anderson, Tommy Campbell, Peter Erskine, George Garzone, Mike Stern and Kenny Wheeler, as well as with a swathe of important Italian and European artists. After studying at Berklee, Dave Lewis returned to this country to a wealth of work. His robust and melodic tenor playing has been heard with a notable list of artists including John Martyn, Bryan Ferry, Joan Armatrading, John Mayall, Eric Clapton & the Blockheads, as well as his own highly regarded soul, funk & groove band, “1Up”. The band is completed with one of the finest rhythm sections in the UK, Ross Stanley on organ, Mike Outram on guitar and Enzo Zirilli, drums. Hearing these two amazing sax players work together really is a treat.
