A fine Canadian born singer it's hard to believe that Tammy has been on the London jazz scene for more than a decade. Tonight we celebrate her arrival from Vancouver ten years ago with a show that will offer a great mix of classic jazz standards and beautifully crafted originals that she performs with a wonderful sense of melody and swing. Her debut CD all those years ago, “Legacy”, was well received and led to appearances on national TV and radio as well as performances at both the Montreal and Vancouver Jazz Festivals. Since then both her performances, and in particular her writing, have moved her to the forefront of the UK jazz scene. Her latest has CD “Where I Need To Be”, featuring her excellent original material written with Grammy Award-winning producer Terry Britten and pianist Tom Cawley, has been received with considerable critical acclaim, with one of her co-writes from that album “Everyone But Me”, being included on an album produced by Michael Bublé in early 2013. This 10th Anniversary gig will feature in particular songs co-written with pianist Tom Cawley (Wed 2nd) as well as a retrospective of treasures both old and new selected from Tammy’s enviable repertoire. Great singer, great band, great gig this.

“Tammy Weis has a deliciously haunting voice…this is how it’s supposed to be done” John Beaudin 103.1 FM.
“She’s the real deal” Time Out;
“..a master of the ballad” BBC Radio 3
