Chrisp Street Market Show: Film at the Market

The Chrisp Street Market Show is a special live events series that will take place across three consecutive Saturdays and will feature a free outdoor programme of local music, boxing, film and food.

Dame Angela Lansbury, of Murder She Wrote fame and after whose grandfather the Lansbury Estate is named, is returning the place she grew up. Her life and career will be celebrated with a quiz show and screenings of her films and TV shows at Chrisp Street Market Square. Events are free and open to all.

12pm – 1pm – The Quiz Show: Angela Lansbury fans will have the chance to enter a quiz about the life and career of the famous actress. Winners will receive tickets to a screening of an Angela Lansbury film at Spotlight on Sunday 6th April.

1pm – Music Show: East London Radio’s vintage presenter and massive Angela Lansbury fan will host a Music Hall sing-along.

2pm – Culture Show 2 of 3: Bow Arts present the East London Group, an art group founded in 1925 by John Cooper.

3pm – Future Market Show 2 of 3: Possible Futures: In a three-part series that looks at the role the market will play in the redevelopment of Chrisp Street, this second show asks who will own the market in the future, how will it be managed and who might its new clientele be.

3pm – Film Screening: Film screening of Bedknobs and Broomsticks at 11 Market Way.

4pm – Cooking Show: Local resident, Chef Richard, hosts the second of three shows about the food of Chrisp Street.

5 pm – Murder She Wrote: Screening of two episodes of TV show Murder She Wrote filmed in London, where Angela Lansbury plays the famous Jessica Fletcher, at the Market Square.
