Chrisp Street Market Show: Karaoke at the Market

The Chrisp Street Market Show is a special live events series that will take place across three consecutive Saturdays and will feature a free outdoor programme of local music, boxing, film and food.

On the closing Saturday of the Chrisp Street Market Show we celebrate the musical talent and musical stories of the Chrisp Street area. Watch and listen to live performances, interviews and music selections from the local community. Events are free and open to all.

12pm – The Open Mic Show:
Chrisp Street Market’s buskers and talented residents get their moment to shine.

1pm – Music Show: East London Radio present Spotlight, Poplar’s new creative youth space. This show includes interviews with Spotlight’s staff and features music made by young people at Spotlight.

2pm – Culture Show 3 of 3: Bow Arts present work currently being produced around the corner from Chrisp Street.

3pm – Future Market Show 3 of 3: Why it Matters: In a three-part series that looks at the role the market will play in the redevelopment of Chrisp Street, this final show looks at examples of markets that have played their part in social cohesion and community making.

4pm – Cooking Show: Local resident, Chef Richard, hosts the third show about the food of Chrisp Street. Maureen’s famous pie & mash shop, which has been running in Chrisp Street Market for more than 50 years, tells us more about this traditional East End dish.

5pm – Meal at the Market

6 pm – Karaoke: The Chrisp Street Market show closes with a karaoke featuring the best singers in the area.
