LA fitness Capital to Coast charity cycle ride

It is time to reserve your place on the ultimate annual London to Brighton Bike ride, taking place on the 22nd June 2014. The annual LA fitness Capital to Coast charity cycle ride is suitable for all abilities, and actively encourages those with disabilities to take part - usually riding on tandem cycles with their supporters. Their participation not only inspires other riders, but also instils an immense sense of achievement when they get to Brighton.

Regular participants include TV presenters Matt Barbet and Jeff Brazier who join over 1,500 cyclists every year. Last year the event raised over £250,000 for two great charities – Norwood and the Down’s Syndrome Association; and for 2014 Action Medical Research have signed up as a third beneficiary charity so this year is set to be even bigger and better.

There are four routes - two of which start from the iconic EDF Energy London Eye. All finish up at Brighton beach, taking in amazing landmarks and scenic country roads along the way.

Route 1 & 2:
75 miles: Central London (EDF Energy London Eye) to Brighton
60 miles: Central London (EDF Energy London Eye) to Brighton Starting from the EDF Energy London Eye cyclists ride west over Westminster Bridge to Parliament Square and along the Thames to Chelsea Harbour, towards Richmond, Chessington, then along picturesque country lanes to Newdigate, Warninglid and on - and up - to the spectacular Devil's Dyke. From there on, it's sheer heaven..... going downhill to the finish! The 60 mile option follows a slightly different route through London and joins up with the 75 mile ride near Epsom.

Route 3:
60 miles: Kempton Park Racecourse to Brighton: From the Start riders go towards Hampton Court and join up with the main ride.
Route 4:
60 miles: Brighton to Brighton (circular route)
From the Brighton start, the ride proceeds towards Shoreham, Steyning, Shipley, Southwater and joins up with the riders from the other starts just east of Horsham.

Free refreshments and mechanical support are available on each of the routes which are clearly signposted and fully supported by volunteer marshals.
