ditto is thrilled to present our upcoming Campfire speaker Matt Locke, founder & director of Storythings, a company set up to deliver projects that explore how we tell stories in the digital age. He has worked in the digital media industry for over 15 years in both strategic and delivery roles at major media organisations and within cultural organisations.

Before starting Storythings, Matt was Head of Multiplatform Commissioning at Channel 4. In this role, he was responsible for running the Multiplatform Commissioning team with a £7m budget for multi-platform projects around some of Channel 4′s biggest brands including Million Pound Drop, Skins and Misfits, and developing a new commissioning strategy based on emerging audience behaviours.

Prior to this Matt was Commissioning Editor for Education at Channel 4 commissioning many cross platform and transmedia projects. From 2001-2007, Matt Locke was Head of Innovation for BBC New Media, where he ran a team responsible for developing internal and external innovation projects with the BBC’s content commissioning teams.

Matt is a regular speaker at industry events, including MIT’s Futures Of Entertainment conference, Guardian Activate, the IPPR Media Convention, C21 Futuremedia conference, Thinking Digital, Sheffield DocFest, Intelligent Factual and MIPTV Cannes. In 2010 he was the only media executive listed in both Broadcast Magazine’s ‘Hot 100′ and Wired Magazine’s ‘Wired 100′.

Matt is on the Advisory Boards of the National Media Museum, The Edinburgh TV Festival, The Children’s Media Conference and The Brighton Photo Biennial. He also sits on the BAFTA Children’s Committee and the BAFTA Learning & Events Committee.

Join us for a fantastic night of storytelling in the digital age on the 24th April at 7pm.
