Singer Songwriter Night in the Chapel

The Singer Songwriter Night is an evening of original song and instrumental material of various genre of music, from folk, pop, blues, rock to jazz performed by a number of musicians:

"Nick's Daughter" - Nick and Olivia Graham

Olivia is a versatile singer with influences ranging from Soul and Country Music to hard swinging jazz.She has sung with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and has recently won a scholarship place at Trinity College to study Jazz Vocal. Her role models include Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin and Joni Mitchell but at 19 years old her style is already her own.

Nick is an ex-rock musician and songwriter/composer but his musical tastes are diverse and his influences include a broad swathe of American Popular music. When performing together as "Nick's Daughter" their set may include some original soulful ballads, a James Taylor/Carole King moment or a fun version of the Crystals "Da Do Ron Ron" - the common link always being a love of melody and harmony!

Nick will accompany Olivia on piano and for part of their set they will also be joined by jazz musician Shura Greenberg on double bass

Hannah Crown

Hannah is a jazz singer, songwriter and arranger. She sings with a number of big bands incljuding Shades of Swing based in Hitchin and the London-based Conchord Big Band.She also sings with smaller ensembles - covering everything from 1940s war songs to jazz, soujl, blues, French chansons and gospels. She has a new monthly jazz residency at the Lord Clyde, in Essex Road, London N1.

Hannah will be accompanied by Sanjay Manohar on piano and Shura Greenberg on double bass

Marco Meloni

Marco is a song writer, arranger, guitar teacher, vocal coach and music producer.He says that
music has always been the biggest part of his life, giving him joy and satisfaction.
He has performed at over 500 gigs since 1998, as a solo singer, in a "James Taylor" tribute band, in function bands, and performing original material to promote my Albums in Rome, Italy. His album "La fotografia" was produced by himself in 2008 on Edel records .

Marco accompanies himself on the guitar.

Jules Cowie

Jules is a professional classical and jazz guitarist and also bassist, and is always out gigging in both contemporary and traditional jazz bands (wearing a variety of hats!). He organises a regular jazz jam at the Golden Anchor in Nunhead. Often accompanied by jazz singer Yuko Yukoi, Jules writes beautiful instrumentals on guitar, influenced by his travels abroad, from countries such as Africa and elsewhere.

Nick Hamlyn

Nick is a singer/songwriter and blues and rock musician on guitar and vocals. He has played lead guitar with a number of bands in the East Midlands area. He also owns Pied Piper Records
trading in collectors and other records. His voice has been compared to the iconic Nick Drake.He now performs as a duo with his sister Cathy in Sheffield, the East Midlands and London
areas.

He will be accompanied by Cathy Hamlyn on piano ( and occasional guitar) and Shura Greenberg on double bass

Cathy Hamlyn

Cathy is a singer songwriter, accompanying herself on piano ( and occasionally guitar) with her brother Nick Hamlyn on guitar and Shura Greenberg on double bass , with original songs,
influenced by the great female singer songwriters from the contemporary folk scene such as Joni Mitchell and Carole King and also from her love of jazz. Cathy also sings jazz with her own trio,quartet and her 7piece band "Cathy Hamlyn and Friends" at venues in Sheffield, Derbyshire and London.

Cathy will accompany herself on piano with her brother Nick Hamlyn on guitar and Shura Greenberg on double bass.

There will also be a short open mic element to the evening for any singer/songwriters who come on the night with original songs ( own compositions only please and first come first served ! Please make yourself known at the ticket desk where there will be a sign up sheet). Guitar, piano and PA will be available.
