The Cockpit presents Stripped down Economics with Timandra Harkness and The New Economics Foundation.

Economics Burlesque

The faded beauty of Economics undraped and close-up for those no longer beguiled by the old routines. Dazzlingly brought to you by The Cockpit in collaboration with the New Economics Foundation.

Revolution Now?

The Cockpit Theatre of Ideas announces Economics Burlesque; a series of monthly events in collaboration with the New Economics Foundation and compered by Timandra Harkness, that will look behind the dazzle, explain orthodox economics, challenge some of its basic assumptions, get to grips with the dangers that face us and open up new ways of thinking about life, work, and wealth.

Thursday 24 April: Work - Are you worth what you earn? with Helen Kersley
Are you worth what you earn?

Our social status and even our own self worth are ever more determined by the size of our pay packets. But does this bare any relation to our worth to society? We will examine the true value of different jobs and ask ‘are you worth what you earn?’
