Eurovision 2014 at The Water Poet

Live from Copenhagen (and The WP!) on Saturday 10th May 2014.

And it’s that time of year again! The Water Poet's infamous Eurovision par-tay is back, and set to be the biggest ever.

Katrina and the Waves were the last champions to bring home the bacon back in 1997… this year we are sure that we shall regain our title and return to the Eurovision hall of fame where we belong.

So get ready to dust off your nineties gear, that means scrunchies, plenty of denim, and those strange plastic necklaces, and be ready to re-live the glory days of 1997 when we were last victorious.

Blue couldn’t do it, Engelbert Humperdinck couldn’t do it, not even the legendary Bonnie Tyler could do it… Will we do it this year? Who knows, and quite frankly, who cares? All we know is that we’re gonna have a rad time watching it. During the day we’ll be pumping the nineties tunes and blasting the barbecue, before our ultimate quiz sorts the superfans of the world’s campest competition from the casual viewer.

NINETIES POSTER COMPETITION

Join us and test your Eurovision knowledge from the losers we love to hate to the winners we love to, well, hate… throughout Eurovision history for a chance to win glittering nineties prizes including your very own copy of ‘NOW 37!’ as well as booze and more.

SCREENING OF THE MAIN EVENT ON 8 SCREENS INCLUDING OUR DOWNSTAIRS CINEMA AND HUGE PROJECTOR SCREEN IN THE MAIN BAR
You will be able to see the competition from EVERYWHERE within the pub… whether you’re happy to watch it on the television while playing a game of pool, sitting out in the garden on a picnic bench with a burger, or immersing yourself in a world of Eurovision in our downstairs cinema. Whichever area in the pub works best for you there will be eight screens to get your peepers on and the 90s will be the theme to get dressed up to. GET READY TO PARTY like its 199….7.

THE GLITTER BAR
For one night only the garden barn area, opposite our BBQ, will be transformed into our Glitter Bar, complete with disco ball and disco vibes. Grab a slice of the action from this room through the garden complete with large television screen while drinking Smirnoff’s new gold flaked cinnamon vodka.

A VARIETY OF VERY NINETIES DRINKS TO WET YOUR WHISTLE
All those controversial drinks that tasted like delicious fruits of the rainforest will be back. Bacardi Breezers, Hooch and Sunny Delight will all be available from any of our bars to help you get into that nineties party spirit.

On May 10th, the Water Poet is the only place to get EUROTRASHED, nineties style.
