Foodies Festival announces an extended series of nine festivals for 2014 and a new partnership with English Heritage, with two new festivals at Kenwood House and Marble Hill House this Summer.

Foodies Festival, the UK’s biggest celebration of food and drink announces nine festivals for Summer 2014 and has agreed a partnership with English Heritage to run two new Foodies Festivals at two of the most prestigious English Heritage properties: Kenwood House and Marble Hill.

Foodies Festival Marble Hill will be held for the first time this May Bank Holiday Sat 24, Sun 25, Mon 26 May in the riverside parkland of Marble Hill House near Richmond, with over 30,000 visitors expected over the holiday weekend.

Foodies Festival Kenwood House brings the festival to the newly refurbished Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath on Fri 30, Sat 31st May and June 1st

This year welcomes an extensive array of top chefs, including Great British Bake Off winner, John Whaite. Steven Edwards, winner of Masterchef: The Professionals 2013, and runner up Adam Handling, 2012 and 2013 Masterchef winners Shelina Permalloo and Natalie Coleman, double act Larkin Cen & Dale Williams, both Masterchef Finalists 2013, head chef Anna Kelly of Gordon Ramsay’s London House, Great British Menu judge Glynn Purnell and Michael Wignall: Masterchef The professionals host.

Foodies Festivals are a celebration of fine food and drink in an outdoor setting. Now in its ninth year, Foodies Festivals attracts 250,000 visitors over the Summer across nine outdoor festivals. New features launching this year include:

Chocolate, Cake, Bake and Preserves Theatre which hosts top pastry chefs, chocolatiers, bakers, sugarcraft experts, jam and preserve makers. The audience will be invited to participate with top chefs including John Whaite, winner of BBC’s Great British Bake Off, and Steampunk baker Emily Ladybird.

A new Chocolate, Baking and Preserves Village will attract visitors with a sweet tooth who will be able to buy new products from chocolate and confectionary makers, bakers and cake makers, jam and preserve makers.

A brand new outdoor BBQ Arena will appeal to lovers of al fresco dining. A purpose built BBQ stage will feature hourly BBQ cooking demonstrations from outdoor cooking expert Rob Kennedy. Visitors will be invited to take part in BBQ challenges to learn how to get the most from cooking outdoors – with the chance to even bake a BBQ cake!

A new chilli food market will appeal to those with a love of fiery, spicey foods and will host chilli growers, and artisan producers of sauces, chilli sweets and jams. At 5pm each day visitors will be invited to compete in a Chilli Eating Challenge!

Visitors can relax on hay bales in the new real ale and cider farm which hosts local craft brewers and cidermakers, and in the Drinks Theatre, hosted by beer expert Melissa Cole, visitors can taste a selection of new beers and ales.

A new emphasis on cocktail and food matching will give visitors the chance to taste new cocktails prepared by top mixologists in the Drinks Theatre and vote for the best cocktail of the day.

A new Feasting Tent next to the Wine Village, Restaurant Arena and Street Food Avenue, becomes the social hub of the festival where visitors will enjoy eating with the chefs at long feasting tables.

Foodies Festival features also include:

The Aga Rangemaster Chefs’ Theatre where top chefs from each region including Michelin star chefs , BBC Masterchef stars and TV chefs from the local area cook new summer dishes; the Drinks’ Theatre where visitors can learn from experts including wine expert Charles Metcalfe and beer expert Melissa Cole and can taste new wines, beers, spirits and cocktails and judge the best cocktail of the day; Restaurant Arena with top local restaurants serving their signature recipes; the Children’s Cookery Theatre hosted by local cookery schools where children can find their taste buds and learn to cook food from around the world; the Producers’ Market selling local artisan produce with stands from award winning Guild of Fine Food producers; the Street Food Avenue which sells a vast array of ready-to- eat food from around the world; the Vintage Tea Tent with daily tea dances, and a vintage kitchen market; the live entertainment stage with live music acts performing throughout the day.
