Critically acclaimed Grammy nominees The Heritage Blues Orchestra headline a celebration of the blues at the venue that was amongst the first to play host to the historic "American Folk and Blues Tours".

A big celebration of 50 years of blues at the Fairfield Halls from hosting the legendary American Folk and Blues Festivals in '63 and '64 through to the present day.

This event is in association with The Blues Magazine.

From the Mississippi delta, up to Chicago and back down to New Orleans, with modern jazz horn sounds and a heavy back beat, 2013 Grammy nominees the HERITAGE BLUES ORCHESTRA serve up a powerful and compelling new take on America's Blues heritage.

This is the exclusive London show for this stunning American blues outfit with a distinctly contemporary and adventurous vision. A vision that takes its audience on a rare musical ride. The group carries us over the main highways and big-city streets as well as the dusty back roads of the American South - weaving its way to the crossroads where Blues and the roots of early Jazz were born.

H.B.O. draws its sound from field hollers, work songs, spirituals, soaring gospel voices and the hard-driving rhythms of the deep Blues from the delta and the hill country of northern Mississippi. The group is driven by three voices, two guitars, drums/percussion, harmonica and a fiery four piece horn section (tuba, 2 trumpets, trombone, saxophone). Spotlighting male and female voices, bold brassy sounds of New Orleans as well as modern jazz horn sounds and a heavy back beat, H.B.O. serves up a powerful and compelling new take on America's Blues heritage. With an emphasis on musical exploration, Heritage Blues Orchestra digs into innovative musical territory making a unique and exhilarating contribution to the African-American musical canvas.

Support from award winning British blues harmonica man Paul Lamb and Chad Strentz.

PLUS THE BIG FREE ENTRY blues celebration in the Grand Foyer from 3pm LIVE music from Big Boy Bloater, Giles Hedley and King Size Slim.

And it won't just be great music in the Foyer but great beer too with a beer festival featuring host brewers The Cronx Brewery and DJ BIG G.
