Atelier Tammam is launching a new and exciting art competition and exhibition this spring; A Sustainable World 2014

Bloomsbury based studio and showroom, Atelier Tammam combines an ethical approach with innovative designs and traditional hand craftsmanship to create exquisite bespoke gowns for those who not only love style, but also the world we live in. Atelier Tammam is looking for artists to share their creative interpretation of an eco friendly and cruelty free lifestyle through the creation of “activist art”. A Sustainable World 2014 is the first ever art competition and exhibition hosted by the design house. The competition is open to any artist (professional, student or amateur) in the UK and aims to bring together fashion and modern art to promote animal rights and sustainability.

This is a unique opportunity for ambitious artists to gain exposure and share their opinions through their submitted artwork, as well as the chance to win the exclusive prizes. 10 shortlisted finalists will be announced in the weeks leading up to the final judging. A private reception and viewing will be held on 15th May where the 3 winning submissions will be chosen to be featured in various upcoming Tammam promotions and displayed for the next year in the Atelier Tammam showroom. The winning artwork will be reproduced into a textile print and made into a Tammam couture garment, to be worn by one of our celebrity patrons for a fashion shoot or campaign. This event will be followed by a 4-day public exhibition where the submitted pieces from the 10 finalists will be displayed and have the opportunity to be sold, with 20% of profits going to a charity that supports sustainability.

Winning submissions will be chosen by PETA ambassador Meg Matthews and London based contemporary artist and professor, Mikey Georgeson with a 3rd judge to be announced closer to the competition.
