Part of The World is With Us Series.

Artists, archivists, and scholars trace an illustrated course through works and histories featured in the exhibition The World is With Us: Global Film and Poster art from the Palestinian Revolution, 1968-1980.

In the first of tonight’s two sessions Jordanian sculptor, painter, and curator Mona Saudi, shares her experiences as an artist, and as head the PLO’s Plastic Arts Section during the 1970s, when she curated some of the first international exhibitions of visual art from the revolution. Dan Walsh, founder of the Palestine Poster Project Archives discusses his research and preservation work. And Charles Tripp, professor of politics at SOAS, University of London presents from his work on the history of art and resistance in the Middle East.

After a short intermission, the evening’s second session focuses on two of the rarest and most vulnerable films contained in the exhibition – Our Small Houses by Kassem Hawal (1974), and Palestine Another Vietnam by Jorge Denti and Jorge Giannoni (1971). Directors of both works will participate in a screen talk following the films.
