At first glance, Looking Outside My Window at Rich Mix in Shoreditch sounds too good to be true. Top musicians, artists, fashion designers, chefs, lighting designers and dancers all coming together in one place for the whole May Bank Holiday Weekend. All for less than the cost of your Saturday night takeaway.

The brainchild of exuberant and ambitious Visual Artist Tupac Martir, Looking Outside My Window is an insight into his experience of the world – one he wants to share. With the full lineup a cornucopia of cinema screenings, DJ sets, delicious Mexican cuisine, live performances and interactive art installations, there is something for everyone in this packed weekend.

Musical offerings include a DJ set from musical and artistic innovator James Lavelle, double bass player Huw V Williams collaborating with different Jazz bands and Addictive TV, who will present their new AV project Orchestra of Samples. There are performances from Soda Crew, a group of DJs with learning disabilities who each specialise in a different musical genre from Dub to Rare Soul Groove.

Creator of Mogees, Bruno Zamborlin will be joined by Plaid as a precursor to their Village Underground performance later in May. Experimental Icelandic group Mum will perform plus producer, remixer and filmmaker Alejandro Franco (SLKTR) who has remixed both local and international bands.

There are plenty of elements suitable for visitors with disabilities. The cinema offering includes screenings of audio described Jungle Book, subtitled Labyrinth and autism friendly Neverending Story.

Further screenings include the UK premiere of 'For Those About To Rock' The Story of Rodrigo y Gabriela. Classics Fantasia, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Koyaanisqatsi.

Associate editor of Q Magazine Paul Stokes will present a retrospective of 'My life in videos'. Looking Outside My Window also presents the first ever screening of Sesiones con Alejandro Franco Season 8 featuring The XX and The Dandy Warhols.

There will be a 20 minute performance devised from scratch in just three days featuring choreographer Malgorzata Dzierzon with lighting design from Bambi Bueno and costumes by fashion designer Thomas Tait. Visitors can come and see the work in progress and watch the final performance.

With so much going on, visitors will need some sustenance. Enter fantastic Mexican cuisine provided by award winning restaurant Lupita and to wash it down, drinks from mixologists from The Record Club in Camden.

Tupac Martir, creator of Looking Outside My Window says “Anything is possible. The art in this, is the idea of spreading all these smiles and happiness and memories. I want to introduce something into the area that is a bit unusual. The idea of getting all sorts of different people to come into one space that would never usually be there. It's an all encompassing experience for visitors and performers.”
