This year BIMM summer schools are taking place across the UK with specialist performance courses focussing on Heavy Metal, Classic Rock or Music Production. These five day courses offer budding musicians and producers the chance to develop their skills, their confidence as live performers, and to be tutored by industry heavyweights from The Prodigy drummer Kieron Pepper to Basement Jaxx vocalist Elliot May. The courses consist of dedicated tuition for your chosen instrument, a live performance workshop on stage every afternoon to hone your performance skills, along with a different special guest each day. At the end of the week you’ll be invited to form a band and perform your favourite track to friends and family.

If you hear hard rock calling then ‘5 Days of Music Mayhem powered by Marshall’ is the perfect place to learn how to play like Metallica, rock out like Rage Against the Machine, and perform alongside special guests including Jason Bowld from Bullet for my Valentineand Mikee Goodman of Sikth.
For the classic rockers there’s the ‘Music Performance Summer School powered by Music Radar’ where you will strut the stage like Karen O, hone your rock credentials and play amongst industry greats including Two Door Cinema Club drummer Ben Thompson and Style Council legend Steve White.
And for those that prefer buttons and bass the ‘Music Production Summer School powered by Ableton’ gives you the chance to create your own music with cutting edge production tools under the guidance of the professional producers who know them best including famed UK House music producer Steve Mac and half of the popular DJ pair the Freemasons, James Wiltshire.
