Visitors to ZSL London Zoo are invited to take a step back in time and embark on a historical tour of the world’s oldest scientific Zoo.

To mark the centenary of World War One, guided history tours of ZSL London Zoo will be on offer on the last Friday and Saturday* of every month from April to November 2014.

Taken on a trip from the humble beginnings of the Zoological Gardens in 1826, right through to the modern day, the tour takes in the incredible sights on offer at ZSL London Zoo as well as a glimpse into its 188-year history.

Tour guests will hear how ZSL helped inspire Charles Darwin’s ground-breaking work, follow the friendship of Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin, and see the Zoo’s many famous listed buildings.

Once finished on their tour, guests can spend the rest of their day exploring the modern wonders of ZSL London Zoo at their own pace.

With limited spaces available, ZSL London Zoo History Tours must be booked in advance, and the tour price includes entry to the Zoo, and a 45-minute guided tour.
