Imagine a world without antibiotics, where basic operations and common infections become a major threat to humanity. Antibiotics are a cornerstone of modern medicine and here at St George’s, University of London we are fighting back against growing resistance to them.
At this event our experts will discuss their work on drug resistance, infection and so-called ‘Superbugs’ like MRSA. You’ll learn about ground-breaking research, get a chance to see some of the equipment we use and have a chance to chat to our world-leading researchers. We will also be joined by the Infection Control team at St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust and the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy’s Antibiotic Action Team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to discover how teams and professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and areas like South London are working together to fight a major threat to global health.
This is a free public event, open to all and part of the St George’s, University of London series Spotlight on Science, illuminating research that affects our everyday lives.
