Trinity Hospice in Clapham is opening its doors to the public on Wednesday 9 July, when it will host a free mini concert in partnership with several musicians from the Orpheus Sinfonia.

The event will take place in Trinity's outpatient centre Mulberry Place, overlooking Trinity’s award-winning gardens. There’s no charge and anyone is welcome to pop in and listen to beautiful music in a relaxed atmosphere. Guests will enjoy a specially chosen programme of pieces and hear the fascinating stories and inspiration behind them, accompanied by tea and cake.

Louise Malone, Head of Mulberry Place, says “We are delighted to welcome the Orpheus Sinfonia to Trinity. It’s wonderful to be able to offer patients, families and our local community the opportunity to take a little time out of the everyday and relax. I hope people who do not know much about Trinity take the opportunity to visit us and learn more about our work.”

The Orpheus Sinfonia, under the artistic direction of Thomas Carroll, has established itself as one of the most vibrant, dynamic and inspiring young orchestras. It was founded in 2008 by the Orpheus Foundation to provide opportunity and support for exceptionally talented young musicians emerging from study into the profession. The orchestra attracts the very best of music conservatoire graduates, forming an elite group of performers excelling in artistic distinction.

Trinity Hospice is a charity that cares for over 2,000 terminally ill people and their families every year. It must raise £7 million every year in order to continue providing its services to its community in central and south-west London. Outpatient services at Mulberry Place include counselling, physiotherapy, art therapy, acupuncture and complementary therapies.

To reserve your place to enjoy the music, please contact Anna MacLeod by emailing [email protected] or calling 020 7787 1046. This is an informal event, so you can also simply turn up on the day but spaces may be limited.

Trinity would like to thank Mary Moody and Chris Moreton for making this free event possible. Thanks also to the musicians and the Orpheus Foundation.
