The Lord Mayor Alderman Fiona Woolf today announces the ‘City Cupcake Challenge’ to be hosted at the legendary site on July 11, the City Giving Day. Celebrating the diversity and spirit of the City of London, the ‘City Cupcake Challenge’ will see City workers submit their baking masterpieces for rating by Great British Bake Off Winner Frances Quinn, ITV chef Peter Sidwell and Thom Joseph, Creative Chef at Cocomaya.

During the bake-off, budding City bakers can pit their best creations against each other, all vying to be crowned winner in three categories: best tasting cupcake; best looking cupcake and the Lord Mayor’s chosen favourite.

The summer spectacle will see the historic Guildhall transformed into a baking fete with stalls hosted by London’s finest bakeries including Cocomaya, Sweet Couture and many more. There will also be hourly raffle prizes for lucky winners. The event will culminate in a tea party hosted by the Lord Mayor.

The City Giving Day on July 11 is looking to raise over money for its four charities: Beating Bowel Cancer; Princess Alice Hospice; Raleigh International and Working Chance
