Ronnie Scott's Rejects deliver an outstanding performance of musical excellence with a keen reference to the music of the 1930s and 40s swing era. This highly entertaining 6-piece band is fronted by the sassy singer Hazel Holder who has West End and Broadway shows under her belt. The band is led by pianist Stephen Large who is also musical director for Rebecca Ferguson and Duffy as well as having been MD/keyboard player for Imelda May, Clare Teal, Martha Reeves, Paloma Faith and Rod Stewart. He has also taken over Jools Holland's role as keyboard player in the band Squeeze.

The band is influenced by jazz aristocrats such as Peggy Lee, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Ramsey Lewis, Chet Baker and Nat King Cole. They are all experienced musicians, having worked with legendary artists including Kenny Ball, The Humphrey Littleton Band, Beyonce, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder as well as playing with The Hot Waffle Big Band, Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Pee Wee Ellis and Jamie Cullum. They have released an album under the band name 'The Rag And Bone Club', featuring original jazz compositions along with original takes on old classics.

The evening's entertainment will be preceded by a beginner's fun swing-dance lesson from Simon Selmon of the London Swing Dance Society. No partner required, just turn up!

This performance is part of the More London Free Festival's Free Music season (9-25 July) featuring 3 weeks of lunchtime acoustic music, and dance and excitement in the evenings from jazz, blues, pop, soul, reggae, Latin, lounge and choirs. There are no tickets – seats are on a first come, first served basis but as many of the events reach capacity early arrival is highly recommended.
