A double-bill evening of entertainment starts with a performance by vocalist, performer and lyricist, Randolph Matthews. Inspired by London’s late-80s soul-jazz scene, Randolph serves up a unique blend of jazz, soul and ethnic beatbox during his interactive performances. His recent collaboration with Young Voices Choir took Randolph with 6,000 children up and down England from Manchester arena to the Royal Albert Hall performing to more than 500,000 people over two years.
The evening continues with a performance from Brazilian songwriter and music professional, Gui Tavares. Born in Brazil, Gui's musical career began at an early age with his love of guitar, singing, classical and modern dance and jazz. Gui's early musical influences included his brother, Guto Tavares, a singer in a Bossa Nova band. Gui now lives and works in London, doing music production, recordings, theatre, films soundtracks and performances. His recent album ‘Amigos & Friends’ won the award for the Best World album in Brazil. He continues to perform internationally with concerts in the UK, Spain, Japan, Italy, Argentina and Brazil.
This performance is part of the More London Free Festival's Free Music season (9-25 July) featuring 3 weeks of lunchtime acoustic music, and dance and excitement in the evenings from jazz, blues, pop, soul, reggae, Latin, lounge and choirs.
