Enjoy the energy and talent of some of Southwark’s great school music ensembles. Groups from primary and secondary schools across the borough of Southwark including brass bands, African drumming and Brazilian percussion groups come together at The Scoop to share their magic.

The Mayor’s Music Fund awards grants which provide extensive opportunities to young people with significant musical talent to fulfil their potential. Launched in 2011, the Fund works in every London borough to offer opportunities to young musicians who may not otherwise be able to access them, through two main programmes: scholarships and partnerships.

The young people who take part in the partnership projects are from wide social and financial backgrounds, while those who are on a four-year scholarship are assessed both on musical merit and financial need. This performance is part of the More London Free Festival's Free Music season (9-25 July) featuring 3 weeks of lunchtime acoustic music, and dance and excitement in the evenings from jazz, blues, pop, soul, reggae, Latin, lounge and choirs.

There are no tickets - just turn up and enjoy the show!
