Zoë Skoulding & Samira Negrouche
Literature Across Frontiers and The Mosaic Rooms are pleased to present an encounter between languages and sound. Poets Zoë Skoulding and Samira Negrouche are working together on a cross-cultural and cross-media collaboration for this year’s Ledbury Poetry Festival. Alongside translating each other’s poems, they’ll be creating a multimedia performance combining electronic sound collage and poetry. Their residency, which starts in Manchester and continues in Ledbury, will culminate in a public performances at Ledbury Poetry Festival and finally here at the Mosaic Rooms.
Zoë Skoulding is a poet, though her work encompasses sound-based vocal performance, collaboration, translation, literary criticism, editing, and teaching creative writing. Her work’ The Museum of Disappearing Sounds’ was shortlisted for the Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry.
Samira Negrouche is an Algerian poet, author and medical doctor living in Algiers. She is the author of several poetry collections including recent publications include Le Jazz des Oliviers and Le Dernier Diabolo.
