The band tonight is a trio led by two terrific musicians, guitarist Nigel Price and pianist Craig Milverton. Nigel is a highly skilled guitarist as well as an accomplished composer whose swinging bebop approach combined with flawless control is a delight to hear. He has performed with the legendary David Axelrod at the Royal Festival Hall as well as being a regular with the BBC Big Band and is probably best known for his work over many years with the James Taylor Quartet. His wonderful talent was properly recognised in 2010 when his organ trio received the “Best Jazz Ensemble” award at the All Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group Awards. Playing alongside Nigel tonight will be the pianist Craig Milverton. Craig has been a charismatic presence in the UK Jazz scene for over 20 years. Voted Jazz Pianist of the Year at the 2010 British Jazz Awards he has performed with many of the finest UK artists, including the likes of Jacqui Dankworth, Digby Fairweather, Pete King, Jean Toussaint and Clark Tracey. His distinctive style is a mix of modern jazz, hard bop, Latin and classical. Completing the line up will be the excellent young bass player Sandy Suchodolski. Three top players, one great gig!

“Very few players could manage playing as fluent, imaginative and technically impeccable guitar as Price”Evening Standard;
“[Price] Ace guitarist. Full blooded, hard swinging solos” Evening Standard; “star instrumentalist is the nationally known pianist Craig Milverton...the polish and sophistication Milverton brings to the proceedings makes it something.” The JazzMann
