Bossa Nova at Canela

Canela, a newly launched Portuguese Restaurant and Wine Bar in Covent Garden is launching a series of free Bossa Nova music nights throughout July.

Featuring acoustic sets from London's most exciting Bossa Nova duos, the evenings will recreate the swaying beat and sultry heat of 1960s Brazil. The perfect backdrop to enjoy Canela's boutique range of Portuguese wines and delicious petisco dishes.

Beginning at 7pm every Tuesday evening, the musicians will play original vintage Bossa Nova music, a distinctive fusion of samba rhythms, jazz melodies and a smooth offbeat percussion. Well known hits from the likes of Astrud and João Gilberto, Stan Getz and Nara Leão, will be mixed with rarer earlier forms,
