Working in conjunction with serioushit productions, this is a group dedicated to committed and enthusiastic professional actors and writers, created by film makers for actors and writers living in the London region.

Simply put, we believe that actors, act. Writers, write.

And, while life gets in the way, you take a job to pay the rent and bills keep knocking on your door, over time, you will either use your craft or you will lose your craft.

WHAT IS PAGE FRIGHT LONDON ACTORS?

Page Fright (London Actors) is a weekly night, commencing July 15th and continuing every Tuesday evening thereafter.

The night has been created to give actors a place to socialise and network, and to provide actors with a platform to work with scripts and perform on a regular basis.

WHAT WILL ACTORS BE PERFORMING?

Scripted comedy. Mostly new works and test material, but there will also be some older pieces.

WHY COMEDY?

Comedy is just the start.

As we grow, we will also add a night for drama and then a night for miscellaneous works, such as Sci-Fi, Supernatural, Suspense and Theatre.

We chose Comedy to start with as the idea came to us on a shoot, where actors who had to hang around all day started to mess around with their scripts to pass the time.
It just reminded us of why we got into this business in the first place.

The love of the craft and the laughter and enjoyment that came with the work.
Hence, Comedy.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "COMEDY?"

Comedy is a word that may mean different things to different people.

Whether it's work designed for laughs or smiles, works that deal with funny situations or strange realities, or works that range from sit-com to the bizarre or trivial, any work that is designed to touch your humour in some way will be acceptable for submission or performance.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT?

The simple format is actors will be chosen by individual writers and will be given a script of between 2 and 4 pages in length, depending on the amount of actors required.

Actors will be given an hour to learn the script and they will then perform the piece for all other actors.

There will be NO DIRECTORS, and the writers will NOT be allowed to interfere.
If, as an actor you don't like the script, you are to tell the writer and you are to tell the writer why.

Writers will have to deal with rejection and constructive criticism in real life and our nights will be no different.

As an actor, when you audition it will be a cold and clinical experience, with the occasional, "can you just do that again, but this time, really angry."
We believe that all actors need to learn to have an early interpretation of the script, what a writer or director might want, and a unique perspective of character.
As such, there will be no directors involved.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Any professional, or soon to be professional actor.

We want actors of all backgrounds, shades, sexualities and nationalities.
