The launch of Reg's new album England Green & England Grey is going to be a beautifully intimate evening with a great line up of Reg (guitar, dulcimer, banjo) with Roy Dodds (percussion), Simon Edwards (bass), Jess Vincent (shruti box & vocals) and Mike Cosgrave (accordion & keyboards).

England Green & England Grey is Reg’s 10th CD release since 1991. In these albums Reg has proved over and over again that he is one of this country’s finest singer/songwriters, gaining regular Radio and TV plays and earning praise and 5 star reviews from all the leading music publications. This latest collection pulls no punches and Reg delivers a concise and articulate commentary on our times, wrapped in the most gorgeous music from some of this country’s finest players.
Reg deals bravely and touchingly with topics such as dementia and mental asylums; it commemorates the centenary of WW1, with an unromanticised account of the life of Flora Sandes, the only Englishwoman to engage in active combat during WW1; celebrates Tony Benn’s tribute to suffragette Emily Davison; tells the touching love story of the bandleader of The Titanic, Wallace Hartley and his fiance Maria Robinson and her gift of a violin, The Band Played Sweet Marie; and it delivers an anthem for our times with the title track: England Green and England Grey - hailed by some as a new national anthem for our country.

The maturity of Reg’s writing, and the courage with which he deals with difficult subjects, is revealed through these songs. Reg is one of this country’s greatest songwriters at the very top of his game.
