Mirageman – 4 hour DJ set

Mirageman aka Murray Furtado is one of the organisers of Astral Circus and when not sorting out line ups he occasionally finds time to spin psychedelic acid lounge from the space age and beyond. We are talking about records made in the 1960s and 70s by often unknown but highly talented session musicians, to be used as incidental music by film, television and radio companies, a genre also known as library music. Many of these tracks are exhilaratingly inventive and still sound futuristic and mind expanding as well as being seriously groovy. ‘Soul Bossa Nova’ by Quincy Jones is a quintessential example, featuring in the title sequence to Austin Powers International Man of Mystery. Expect this and many more obscure retrodelic gems to be pulled from mirageman’s bulging CD wallet.
