Enjoy a nostalgic steam railway trip along the Chesham branch of London’s Metropolitan line on 16 and 17 August and get a feel for what it would have been like to travel along this famous Metro-land route in times gone by.
The train will be made up of Metropolitan Locomotive No. 1; the L150 Steam Locomotive, the Metropolitan Milk Van; the Chesham Set, the Sarah Siddons electric locomotive and the Metropolitan Jubilee carriage 353.
• The first run will go between Wembley Park and Rickmansworth (steam hauled)
• The next two runs will go from Rickmansworth to Chesham and return to Rickmansworth (steam hauled both directions)
• The last run will go from Rickmansworth to Chesham and return to Harrow-on-the-Hill (steam hauled both directions)
Look out for London Transport Museum’s pop-up shop at Rickmansworth station which will be selling gifts and mementos including exclusive Metropolitan line commemorative merchandise.
