To mark Anti-Slavery Day in October 2014, the Tri-Borough Violence Against Women and Girls Strategic Partnership is hosting two performances of New Shoes Theatre’s production of Hurried Steps. The afternoon matinee is timed to fit in with the school run.

The compelling hour-long play, examines violence against women by using testimonies from real women. Hurried Steps creator and Italy’s foremost playwright, Dacia Maraini, was inspired by testimonies reported by Amnesty International and newspaper cuttings.

The play raises awareness of violence against women and girls.
The stark no frill performance is created to provoke a discussion between the audience and a panel of local experts who work to tackle these issues in London.

Maraini was nominated for the 21012 Nobel Prize for Literature and as part of an International project she has written a story for this UK production.

“It’s BEAUTIFUL work from the Finborough, the actors, director and designers…. “
