The Amstel Art Gallery is pleased to present “The hot side of Love” the new and engaging solo exhibition of the Italian artist Paolo Gaveglia. Hosted in the prestigious St. George Wharf in Vauxhall, the exhibit will commence the 7th of August at 6.00 pm. and will continue until the 5th of September with a finissage in the presence of the artist.

The art show will feature an exclusive selection of artworks dedicated to the female figure, a privilege subject in Gaveglia’s work, created through the mosaic technique.
This one of a kind technique represents the artist’s trademark, a ground-breaking way to create mosaics that combine past and present, adding contemporary materials at the more traditional tiles such as ceramic, marble, acrylics and objects from everyday life.

As the fresh-looking pop style exhibited here at Amstel Art- sometimes a little provocative, the artworks exhibited in the gallery represent the female body in a seductive way, where the sensuality of the female shapes IS intensified by the daring poses and by the skilful blurry effect, possible thanks to the use of mosaic that creates a pixel image, abstract and immortal in their essence.

According to Gaveglia “ The mosaic is capable of instilling a sense of eternity, of stability, that is also a common aspect of the woman ideal, from the origin symbol of life creation.”

The art show will also display a mosaic portrait of Marilyn Monroe; a world recognized icon of femininity and a most loved model for many artists, such as the famous Andy Warhol.

This artwork is an iconic piece of a Gaveglia’s series dedicated to female celebrity portraits.

Paolo Gaveglia, born in 1966, works and lives in La Spezia, Italy. A Self-educated artist, Gaveglia started with the mosaic technique after a period of trials with different mediums, from oil to watercolours, from collage to mixed techniques. A tireless experimenter, Gaveglia mixes past and present with unusual and innovative results.
Active in the art-system from 2000 with several exhibitions in different Italian galleries and international art fairs, Gaveglia has also been exhibited in galleries across the world from massive art capitals in the United States such as New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, Boston, to Berlin, Paris, Dubai and for the first time this summer will be here in London, at the Amstel Art Gallery. A beautiful opportunity for all the art lovers to admire a new kind of Italian art.
