Tonight will be the another night in a regular series of gigs featuring artists from the world of singer/songwriters, hosted by one of the UK’s finest singer/songwriters, Sarah Gillespie. The structure of the evening will be based on a format that has been popular in New York for a little while, but untried in the UK…up until now! Each of the three guest singers perform two numbers at the beginning of the evening and then for the second half of the set all four singers will take turns to perform. The second half will be the same format but will feature an opening set from Sarah. Joining Sarah tonight will be: Kizzy Crawford, Siobhan Parr & Bex Marshall. Bex Marshall: Though actually from Devon one could swear that Bex Marshall hailed from a Southern bayou or a Midwestern steel town in the US. Her guitar playing mixes fingerpicking and slide with a raspy tone and vocal phrasing that is quintessential blues. She’s toured the World and her latest recording, “Kitchen Table”, reached #20 in the Americana Music Association Chart (AMA). Her current CD, “The House of Mercy” has received rave reviews and generated appearances on BBC Radio 2. To quote Classic Rock Magazine UK, “…you can see why Bex Marshall has Paul Jones in a flap…that she wrote these 11 never-boring songs is the mark of a talent to watch”.Kizzy Crawford A Welsh speaker with Bajan heritage, although still relatively new to the scene Kizzy Crawford's solo career has already begun to burgeon. She has developed an increasing sophistication to her songwriting and performance that is complimented by her soaring voice which boasts both range and charisma. She states that “[My} ambition as a black Welsh artist is to make my mark by fusing bilingual soul/jazz”. She's already getting recognition for her work with airplay on BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, BBC Radio Wales and Radio Cymru as well as live TV performances on BBC for Children in Need and the 6 Nations ad campaign. A multi-Award winner she won the Brwydr Y Bandiau at the National Eisteddfod 2013, the Welsh Singer-Songwriter competition (receiving money to record her first EP) and the BBC Horizons Artist of the Year. She has performed at Glastonbury, the National Assembly for Wales, London Jazz Festival, Swn Festival and Hay Festival and is slated to appear at Festival No. 6, and Wakestock before touring the US and Canada. A truly talented artist. Siobhan Parr Country-blues singer-songwriter Siobhan Parr has been a presence on the singer/songwriter scene for some time now, impressing all those who have heard her. After taking time out to have a baby it is with great pleasure that we welcome this excellent artist to the Club this evening. This night is an exciting addition to the 606 Club gig roster and promises to be a unique and exhilarating experience for both performers and audience.

“Sarah Gillespie..…an incandescent presence who matches her imposing delivery with superior lyrics” Guardian
