Irish Cultural Centre's Traditional Music Classes. For Beginners to Advanced Musicians.

Classes are on Thursdays at St. Paul's in Hammersmith and Saturdays at Hammersmith Town Hall.

Description: The Mulkere Academy of Traditional Irish Music runs two group tuition sessions every week, one on Thursday evenings and Saturdays,

Saturdays 10am-3pm, Hammersmith Town Hall. Sept 6, 13, 20, 27.
Oct 4, 11, 18, 25.
(No class will take place during midterm: Nov 1st)
Nov 8, 15, 22, 29.

Thursdays 5.30-9pm, St. Pauls Centre, Hammersmith.
Sept 11th, 18th, 25th.
Oct 2nd, 9th, 23rd.
(No class will take place during midterm: 30th Oct)
Nov 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th.

Brendan Mulkere is an inspirational teacher and has a strong reputation for running classes in Irish traditional music in London and across the UK. He has taught many well-known musicians including John Carty, James Carty, Niall Keegan, Brian Kelly, John Blake and Michael and Joe Searson. He is a visiting tutor on the MA Irish Traditional Music programme at the University of Limerick.

Brendan teaches students (from beginners to advanced) in groups on the following instruments:

Violin
2 row B/C tuning Button Accordion (8 bass)
Irish tenor banjo (4 string)
Mandolin
Whistle/Flute
Anglo Concertina

If you are a complete beginner a ‘D’ whistle is an excellent and inexpensive starting point.
