August's Discovery showcase, of hotly tipped acts features urban, indie dance band Ask Martin, the soulful sounds of Etta Smith with her band, Electric who fuses old school Hip Hop and RnB with electronica, plus Dj Delphi.

ASK MARTIN
Young all-female three-piece band born in the heart of London's Camden music scene in late 2013. They mix 'synthy' electronica with quirky British vocals and catchy guitar lines with resounding drum and bass to create a new, urban/indie-dance sound. They’ve been described as “like a burger with layers of synths, bass, guitars, and garnishes of cutesy, shrill vocals"

With infectious and energising performances and the explosive chemistry between the three girls, they have captivated audiences and transformed bystanders into fans in very little time. They’ve playing  at venues s 'The Garage' in Islington and the Islington 02 Academy. They have been working with Producer Spider. L. Johnson (Tinie Tempah, Stevie Wonder and Kylie Minogue.

ELEKTRIC
Hailing from the Midlands, 22 year old Elektric fuses old school Hip Hop and RnB with electronica backed up with an accessible singer, songwriter style.

Elektric’s music is refreshing and original whilst representing and championing the underground vibe of the Midland’s cool kid scene. She uses her Music to express what its like to be a young, gay, female artist in 21st century Britain. Taking influences from all genres of music from reggae, soul and hip hop, to pop rock, indie and most importantly her life.

Currently signed to producer baby J, who has produced for Amy Winehouse, Estelle, Skinnyman, Dead Prez , Alex Blood, Jamie Joseph. Songs from her Ep 'Not Another Love Song' are receiving airplay on BBC Introducing & 1 Xtra

ETTA SMITH
Etta Smith’s music influences range from classic northern soul to 70's disco. Her love of Soul, R'n'B and Funk, paired with an interest in today's current sounds, forms an innovative and exciting sound from the Newcastle native.

Etta has performed at Newcastle's City Hall, supporting Joe McElderry and London's IndigO2.  Her first ever London gig was a Discovery one, she returns to perform at the AAA with her band.

Etta has recently been working in San Francisco,  with  Grammy award-winning producer, Narada Michael Walden. Together, they produced an enticing track that you are bound to love. Currently, Etta is writing and rehearsing new material.
