Heavyball's sound is best described as impertinent indie with cheeky nod to SKA. Their influences include Viz, Shane Meadows, and the story writing traditions of country and Western.

Since they came together in 2011, Heavyball have already toured internationally with Kaiser Chiefs, received national radio airplay, and have been championed by the likes of 6 Music's Tom Robinson, BBC London's Gary Crowley, BBC Radio Nottingham's Dean Jackson, and BBC Radio Ulster's Gerry Anderson.
